Quick Infusion Catheter

Quick Infusion Catheter

  • Clinical Condition
    •    Peripheral intravenous (PIV) cannulation to administer fluids, medication and nutrients.
Rapid resuscitation of critically-ill patients is difficult due to vein vasoconstriction.
  • Current Practice
    •     A sharp needle and a plastic cannula are inserted into the vein.
    • Resuscitation is done either inefficiently with small catheters or too complex and with high risk of infection
  • Solution
    •  Concentric design for a large gauge catheter using a small gauge needle.
    • <6x faster perfusion rate.
    • Similar operation as existing PIV catheters can be administered by nurses.
    • US and Japan national filing in May 2018.
    • Startup Felis Medical has license option.
    • 510(K) class II with no human clinical trial.
